The P&C are responsible for coordinating a number of events throughout the school year. Events are opportunities where the school community can come together and celebrate an occasion, be social and, in some circumstances, raise money for a particular project. Volunteer involvement is what makes these events a success each year. If you would like to help at any of these events, please get in touch with us at pandc@hermitparkss.eq.edu.au or keep an eye out for our Sign-up links on the school's Facebook page.
Examples of some of the events that occur at HPSS include:
Big Breakfast
The Big Breakfast is an event that provides the parent and carer community of HPSS with an opportunity to socialise with each other and meet the HPSS teachers. This is held before the beginning of the school day, where families can get together and enjoy each other's company while sharing food and drink.
Disco
Who doesn't love a disco? This is a chance for the kids to let their hair down, have a dance to some great music and enjoy the food prepared by the P&C volunteers (usually a sausage sizzle).
Family Fun Day
The Family Fun Day is run with a fete-like atmosphere and is held on the HPSS school oval. This social event is held to raise money for a targeted project and is an opportunity for families to enjoy time together, have fun on rides and games, have dinner and enjoy the community atmosphere.
Colour Run
Think colour, think running, think heaps of fun! A fundraising event like no other, this is a great chance for the kids, and adults, to run around our home-made obstacle course and have colour thrown at them. What fun!!
Adult event (e.g. Trivia/Bingo night)
This adult's only social evening is held to raise money for a targeted project. The Trivia/Bingo Night is usually themed and participants take great pleasure in getting into the spirit of the evening by dressing up!
Please check out our yearly calendar, information on our noticeboards and in the school newsletter, and the school's Facebook posts to find out what events are being held at HPSS this year.
