Technology is shaping the way we approach education, and at Hermit park we consider digital learning an integral component of our curriculum.
We incorporate a range of technological devices into our daily practices and collaborate with others locally and more broadly with a view to helping transform education for the 21st century.
Technological devices operating in our school include:
hi-speed wireless network
laptops, notebooks, iPads
hand-held mp3 microphone recorders
desktop computers
hand-held scanners
document camera
green room for movie-making
hand-held digital cameras and video cameras and movie editing machine
various programmable robots
sound equipment
chatterblock recordable and picture display electronic dice
big point voice recorders with picture display.
By incorporating these technological devices, both in our classrooms and beyond, our students are learning valuable skills which will enable them to actively participate in the modern world. New devices are trialled in classrooms and evaluated on an ongoing basis to ensure they are genuinely contributing to improved learning outcomes. A range of software programs enables us to track and review individual student performance on an ongoing basis and, where needed, additional technological devices may be engaged for select students to assist with learning requirements.
