​Guidance Officer

At Hermit State School we have varied systems of support which include access to our Guidance Officer. Helen works at Hermit Park SS every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and provides guidance and support across our school community.

Triple P for Every Parent - Positive​ Parenting Program
To help with parenting strategies and improve children's behaviour.
The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) provides specialist mental health services for children and young people and assistance to their families or carers.
CYMHS combines hospital and community-based facilities to provide free and confidential consultation, assessment and treatment of children and young people, 0-18 years, whose:
  • emotional and behavioural disorders are severe or complex
  • or at risk of becoming so
  • and whose needs cannot be met by other services.
Access to psychological services for children 0-12 years.  It is a service for children with behavioural and emotional disorders who would benefit from short term focussed psychological strategies. Issues include anxiety, depression, trauma and bereavement.
